Life is a Series of Moments

more moments

Life is a series of moments strung together over time
Some moments are cherished, others are condemned, and many are done without awareness or thought.

We think these moments define us-
How successful we are, how much stuff we have, how busy we are. In this day of social media we define ourselves by how many “likes” we have or how many people follow us on Facebook or Instagram.

But do they?

What if you had just THIS moment?
What if you KNEW it was your last moment?
More importantly, what if you DID NOT know it was your last?

We often say we need to escape from the moment. What if we spend our time escaping from the moment and not living in it?
The fact is, we do not know when that moment will be our last moment.

Gossip, drama, lies, chaos- whether we are the instigator or the recipient-are a waste of our moment.
Speaking badly of another, judging, criticizing, bullying..
What if that IS your last moment?
There will not be another moment in time for making excuses or offering retraction.
Do you really want the last words you speak to be ones from a place of hate, jealousy, or judgment?

So many moments are spent being angry, railing against those who make us angry, and often blaming them for our anger. There are those who judge and bully believing it is their right. Others react with emotion and vitriol verbiage, tearing apart any who do not agree.

Is this how you want to spend your moment?

When is the last time you told someone you loved them and meant it? One that is a true and pure expression of that moment. One that comes from the heart space. Not the kind of “I love you” that sounds so similar to the perfunctory, Have a nice day! that habitually rolls off the tongue without thought.

Many moments are spent trying to recreate moments long gone yet not forgotten. Some say that these moments are woven into a story, your story. Something to define you within this physical existence and yet, none of those moments are THIS moment.

Most of us admittedly, ride moment to moment without a thought, EXPECTING to have many more moments.
Sometimes moments are stolen, some like a kiss- others, like a stab to the heart

What if you spent this moment, not judging or criticizing yourself for moments past but knowing, in this moment, you are being the best you can be and doing the best you can?

Moments can be filled with joy, love, laughter, sadness, tears, grief, anger, hurt, fear
Make the most of that moment. Embrace it. Learn from it. Accept it.
What if it was your last?

What if………..
