You hear it all the time. You probably know one or more people who have it. But they look fine, you say. Fibromyalgia is not something you can see. You may not recognize the condition because you cannot see it. It is not like pink eye or the mumps.
What is Fibromyalgia?
“Fibromyalgia is widespread pain in the muscles and soft tissues. Fibromyalgia is a syndrome-a set of symptoms that happen together but do not have a known cause. In this syndrome, the nervous system (nerves, spinal cord, and brain) is not able to control what it feels, so ordinary feelings from your muscles, joints, and soft tissues are experienced as pain. People with fibromyalgia feel pain and/or tenderness even when there is no injury or inflammation.
Fibromyalgia does not harm your muscles, joints, or organs. And there are many things you can do to control it. When it is not controlled, you may not have any energy. Or you may feel depressed or have trouble sleeping. These and other symptoms can be bad enough to cause problems with your work and home life. With treatment, most people with fibromyalgia are able to continue working and participating in daily activities. Some people change their work duties and lifestyle if their symptoms are severe.”
It is not possible to suggest one crystal or mineral for someone who has fibromyalgia. As a Crystal Consultant, I look at a variety of symptoms, offering suggestions for each one, and work with each person to choose the best pieces to work with and ease their symptoms.
Let’s Look at the symptoms of Fibromyalgia
Symptoms may include:

Difficulty remembering, concentrating, and performing simple mental tasks (“fibro fog”)
Abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, and constipation alternating with diarrhea (irritable bowel syndrome)
Tension or migraine headaches
Jaw and facial tenderness
Sensitivity to one or more of the following: odors, noise, bright lights, medications, certain foods, and cold

Nervous System
Lets start with the nervous system itself. The nervous system (nerves, spinal cord, and brain)is not able to control what it feels, so ordinary feelings from your muscles, joints, and soft tissues are experienced as pain.
Amazonite can dissipate blockages in the central nervous system, helping it to run more efficiently
Amber can help to strengthen the nervous system, helping to bring it into balance
Aragonite helps to stimulate healing
Manganocalcite (Pink Calcite) can heal at a cellular level
Pain
One of the most reported symptoms are issues of pain. I encourage you to add a piece of Amber to your Fibromyalgia first aid kit. While Amber is often used to ease joint pains such as Arthritis and/or Bursitis, I have found it extremely useful for muscle issues. It can help to ease general pains as well.
Magnetite will aid in relieving muscle pains specifically. It can also remove any blockages that are causing pain.
Bronzite eases all types of physical pain related to the body.
Vonsen Blue Jade can help with chronic pain.
Smoky Quartz will help to ease pain, as will Shungite.
Other pain easing stones include: Chrysocolla, Carnelian, Chrysoprase, and Euclase.
Fatigue
Another symptom reported frequently is fatigue and lack of energy.
Work with Pyrite to provide a boost of energy.
Bronzite, which was suggested for pain, also works with Chronic fatigue so would be a perfect piece to do some double duty!
Barite is often recommended for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and can work here as well.
Dioptase can aid in pain relief as well as fatigue symptoms.
Iolite is another crystal that can ease the symptoms of fatigue.
Red Tiger’s Eye can help with those feelings of lethargy.
Tiger Iron (Hematite, Red Jasper, Gold Tiger’s Eye combination) can also do the same.
Insomnia
If you cannot get to sleep, or suffer deal with Insomnia, add one of these to your Crystal first aid kit: Amethyst, Ametrine, Fuchsite, Hematite, Orbicular Sea Jasper (Ocean Jasper) and/or Lepidolite.
We have already talked about Vonsen Blue Jade, but it too, can pull double duty. Not only can it help with chronic pain, it is also a wonderful piece to put under your pillow, helping to achieve a deep and healing sleep.
Focus/Concentration
If you have difficulty remembering, concentrating, and/or keeping focus, try working with Citrine, Hematite, Moss Agate or Red Ruby.
Dumortierite can not only aid in achieving a deep sleep, it also helps in the area of focus, memory and concentration.
Migraines
Migraines often occur as a symptom of Fibromyalgia. We have already spoken about Amber for pain, but did you know it helps to ease migraines as well? Others that can aid are Amethyst, Dioptase (another double duty crystal), Shungite, Lapis Lazuli, Nuummite, and Sugilite. Jet is my most highly recommended for Migraines/Headaches. For me, it works quickly and effectively.
Emotional Support
Pain is debilitating, both physically and mentally. It is quite the challenge to be upbeat when your body is screaming. That is why I want to add some crystal suggestions that can help on an emotional level as part of this consultation. Pain lowers your vibration. Lower vibrations bring on symptoms of sadness, depression and anxiety.
Celestite is a crystal with a soft and supportive energy. It will help to raise your vibration up just enough to pull you out of the darkness.
Blue or Pink Chalcedony can surround you with supportive and loving energies helping to ease the sadness and anxiety.
Septarian Nodule can ease anxiety and depression.
Rhodochrosite lifts and uplifts.
Blue or Green Tourmaline reduce the feelings of sadness as well.
Pink Kunzite, Lapis Lazuli, Lepidolite or Lithium in Quartz can also help to pull you up from the depths.
I realize I have only touched on a few of the symptoms here. I remind you that no two people have the same energy at any given time. Your energy is unique to you, even when facing issues of physical health. I have offered several options here, now I encourage you to choose those pieces that resonate in your heart.
with love and crystal blessings,
Kristi
